Gleb Bogachev
I build tools for things I already do most days: thinking out loud, building software, writing fiction, and teaching kids to code.
Each one started with a problem I kept running into, and I use them myself. Some are working products, one is a private prototype, and one is earlier work I have stopped developing. All five are below.

Capture, the tool I use most, in its own walkthrough. I recorded this video with Retake, another tool I built, which lets an AI coding assistant drive a real browser and film it.
Said during a 27-minute run
Eight unrelated thoughts went into the same capture box. Seven landed correctly. I undid one on the road and said it again.

The Software I Can Use While Running

Thirteen articles on the Capture site started as spoken fragments like this one. Each opens as a read-only Capture thread. See the writing library.
What connects the work
There is no single mission behind these. Each one comes from an activity I keep doing anyway.
Capture is how I hold onto thoughts while walking and running. Retake is how I show that something I built actually works. Ovid is where I write fiction. TechTutor is where I teach, and TechBash is where students keep practising between lessons. Stream was an earlier attempt at the same habit Capture now serves.
The work
Capture
Working · daily use
Say a messy thought. It separates it into tasks and developing ideas you can find later. I built it.

You type or dictate whatever is on your mind, even several things at once. Capture separates them. Tasks become Actions that fade when they stop mattering. Ideas you are still developing gather into Threads with a summary that stays current. Longer-term goals become Intentions.
You can search what you said later. When you want an AI's help, you pick a thread and copy or share it yourself.
My role
Designed and built it, starting at the end of July 2026. I have used it every day since.
Status
Working. Free in the browser for 15 captures a day, no account. Open source, MIT.

Retake
Open source · MIT
Lets an AI coding assistant record video walkthroughs of websites. I built it.
A coding agent is an AI assistant that writes and runs code on your computer, such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor. Retake gives it a way to show its work on video.
The agent writes the walkthrough as a short file of steps: open this page, click here, wait for that. Retake checks every step, drives a real browser, and records it. You get a video file, a still for each scene, and a log of what passed or failed. When the website changes, you edit the file and run it again instead of re-recording by hand. Agents use it from the command line or through MCP, a standard way for AI agents to call outside tools.
My role
Built it. I use it to record Capture's videos, including the one at the top.
Status
Early release. Runs on your own computer. On GitHub and npm since August 2026.

Ovid
Private prototype
Describe a feeling and it finds the words for it. The fiction tool I am building for my own writing.
I collect feelings, images and fragments that move me, and I want to turn them into fiction other people can picture and feel. You describe a feeling, an image or a sentence. Ovid gives back a reimagined line and the exact words that hold it. Every English word is checked against Webster's 1913 dictionary, so nothing invented gets through.
Around that core: Books made of fragments, a Library of passages, images and boards, and a search across all of it.
My role
Building it, and using it for my own fiction as I go.
Status
Working prototype on my own machine. Not released. Screens show a clean copy with sample content.
TechTutor Academy & TechBash
Live
An online coding school for kids, and the learning platform its students use between lessons. I co-founded the school and teach there.

TechTutor Academy is the school: live online classes in coding, AI, game development and 3D for children and teenagers, one-to-one or in small groups.
TechBash is its software. Students work through story-driven coding missions, build in an open playground, and get help from an AI guide that explains errors. They build websites, Python projects and games at their own pace.
My role
Co-founded TechTutor, where I'm Lead Instructor, and built TechBash. I teach generative AI, game development, Blender 3D, Scratch and Python.
Status
Both live. TechBash's first missions work without an account. Student projects belong to the students.

Stream
Earlier work · 2025
A minimal notes app where every note expired unless you chose to keep it. I built it.

Every note had a timer, from one hour to seven days. Anything worth keeping you moved to a saved list. The rest disappeared on its own. The idea that short-lived things should be allowed to fade came back later in Capture.
My role
Built it on my own, August to October 2025.
Status
Still online. Last updated October 2025, no longer developed.

A little more
Most of my thinking happens on foot. I started saying ideas into my phone on walks and runs, and many of my articles began that way. Before Capture, those thoughts lived in roughly 400 notes split between Google Keep and Apple Notes.
What support would change
Time, mostly. Support would let me keep Capture and Retake maintained as open-source projects, keep writing in public, and get Ovid to the point where I can share it.
